Full job description
Animal Care
- Animal handling.
- Loading and off-loading animals.
- Monitor feed intake.
- Feeding of livestock.
Cleaning
- Feedlot surroundings.
- Cutting grass.
- Mixing unit.
- Cattle pens.
- Manure removal.
Research Support
- Mixing of feed.
- Collection of feed ingredients and putting them inside the mixer.
- Taking feed out of the mixer.
- Weighing of feed.
- Assist during cattle processing and weighing.
Maintenance on Infrastructure
- To utilize and maintain facilities, apparatus and equipment in cost effective manner.
- Cleaning of kraals daily.
- Fixing of kraals.
- Cutting lawn and solving water problems.
- Timeous reporting of malfunctioning of gates water reticulation (checking, fixing, reporting).
- General tasks.
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
- Relevant experience working in a farming environment.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to carry out routine duties.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
