Apprentice Mechanic Level 1

About this role

Motus Izuzu Zambezi Multifranchise, part of Motus Corporation, is looking for a Level 1 apprentice to join its service team in Pretoria. You will work under the Manager: Service and learn the trade on the job. The apprenticeship runs for up to three years and leads towards becoming a motor mechanic technician.

What you’ll do

• Help technicians with vehicle repairs when they ask you to.
• Remove and replace parts, units, wheels, batteries and filters.
• Jack up vehicles and set up trestles safely.
• Do basic servicing tasks, such as changing oil, under supervision and to the manual specifications.
• Keep tools, equipment, overalls and your work area clean and tidy.
• Follow all safety rules and attend the technical courses set out for your level.

What you need

• Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science.
• A technical matric (preferred).
• A valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
• Technical skills (advantageous).
• A clear criminal record.
• Good customer service skills and a team player attitude.
