Artisan Electrical - HV Plant

About this role

Eskom is looking for an Artisan Electrical to work on High Voltage (HV) plant and related equipment in the Northern Grid. The base is Spitskop Substation, near Thabazimbi. The job focuses on keeping the grid equipment safe and reliable through maintenance and repairs.

What you’ll do

• Carry out planned (preventative) maintenance and fix faults (corrective work) on HV plant and associated equipment.
• Work under supervision and follow set operating procedures.
• Carry out inspections and condition monitoring on equipment.
• Handle non-outage work and planning, so jobs run to schedule.
• Keep records and configuration documents up to date.
• Follow safety and environmental rules at all times.

What you need

• Trade Certificate at NQF 4 with 120 credits, related to electrical work.
• Completed practical training.
• Good work planning and scheduling knowledge.
• Specific technical knowledge of electrical plant.
• Basic computer and software skills.
• Safety training. Advantageous: superior driving skills.
• Advantageous: First Aid and firefighting courses.
• Good communication skills and a team player attitude.
• Integrity, professionalism, honesty and trustworthiness.
