Assistant Officer Security

About this role

Eskom is looking for an Assistant Officer Security to work at Medupi Power Station in Limpopo. The role is part of the Security Services team. Its purpose is to lead and coordinate security work on a shift or section, so that people, assets and information stay protected.

What you’ll do

• Organise and supervise the people and resources for your section or shift.
• Oversee the work of the security service provider (contractor) on site.
• Monitor security performance and assess how well it is working.
• Carry out occupational health and safety inspections.

What you need

• A National Diploma in Security Management, Policing or Security Risk Management at NQF 6, with 240 credits.
• PSIRA Grade B registration.
• At least 2 years of security experience.
• A valid driver’s licence, and you must be able to drive.
• No criminal record.
• Physical fitness for operational duties, and the mental strength to work in stressful and dangerous situations.
• Knowledge of security legislation, policies, procedures, standards and practices.
• Coaching, mentoring and team-building skills, plus the ability to train others.
• Good administration, problem-solving, presentation and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and interact at a senior level.
• Advantageous: SASSETA skills programme levels 1 to 4.
• Advantageous: National Key Point unit standards.
• Advantageous: Firearm handling unit standards for business purposes.
