Officer Quantity Surveying

About this role

Eskom is looking for a Quantity Surveying Officer for its Lethabo Power Station business unit, based in Deneysville in the Free State. The role sits within the Finance department and supports the project team with contract work, costing and payment certification, plus evaluation and dispute resolution.

What you’ll do

• Help deliver quantity surveying services across the full project life cycle.
• Help measure the quality and cost performance of consultants and contractors.
• Help compile cost estimates for capital investment projects.
• Help prepare enquiry documents for projects.
• Help build and keep up a cost database.
• Follow Eskom and site rules on safety, health, environment, risk and quality (SHERQ).

What you need

• Qualification: National Diploma in Building/Construction at NQF 6 with 240 credits.
• Experience: 3 years of related experience in quantity surveying, cost management, engineering and construction contracts, or project management in the built environment.
• Knowledge of quantity surveying, risk management, cost engineering and management, contracts management, and project management, including planning and scheduling.
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and good problem-solving skills.
• Good negotiation, communication and decision-making skills.
