Assistant Store Manager

About this role

Mr Price Group is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its Mr Price Home store at Cresta Shopping Centre in Randburg. You will help the Store Manager lead the team, grow sales and keep the store running well day to day.

What you’ll do

• Lead and motivate a team of store associates, set clear expectations and build a positive working environment.
• Train and coach staff so they give customers a strong service experience and know the products well.
• Work with the Store Manager to meet or beat sales targets, plan sales strategies and track key performance indicators.
• Help manage stock, including ordering, receiving and restocking, while cutting stock losses and keeping stock counts accurate.
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing, cash handling and security procedures.
• Keep the store clean, well organised and attractive, with appealing displays that draw customers in.
• Help with scheduling, payroll and record keeping, and prepare sales and stock reports that guide improvements.
• Resolve customer complaints and operational problems quickly and professionally, and make sure staff follow company policies and safety standards.

What you need

• Grade 12 (matric).
• At least 3 years of experience in retail.
• Management experience (advantageous).
• Sales and service management skills.
• Budgeting skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Good communication skills.
• A solid understanding of the retail trade, the brand, customers and products.
