Cashier - Frontline Department

About this role

Brights Hardware is looking for a frontline cashier for its store in Langebaan, Western Cape. The role keeps the tills running smoothly and helps customers have a good visit, which supports the store’s growth.

What you’ll do

• Greet customers when they come into the store.
• Ring up every sale accurately and quickly on the registers.
• Take payments, including EFT payments, and check the cash customers hand over.
• Do daily cash ups and follow the cash-up procedure.
• Hand cash drops to your supervisor so the money stays secure.
• Issue gift cards, check reward cards and cash in loyalty points.
• Pack purchases into shopping bags, keep your work area tidy, and help with stock takes.

What you need

• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 6 months’ experience in a similar role.
• Completion of the Brights Induction on service excellence.
• A clean credit record.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good numerical skills.
• Awareness and vigilance, including noticing suspicious behaviour.
• Strong organisation, close attention to detail, and the ability to handle several tasks at once.
• The ability to handle pressure.
• The ability to work in a team and on your own with little supervision.
• Flexibility to work changing hours and over holidays when the business needs it.
