Merchandiser - Irrigation & Outdoor Department

About this role

Brights Hardware is looking for a merchandiser for its Irrigation & Outdoor department at its Stonewood store in the Western Cape. The role keeps products priced, packed and displayed well so customers have a pleasant shopping experience and come back to the store.

What you’ll do

• Pack and display stock neatly, and group products into categories so customers can find them easily.
• Check that transfer numbers match the transfer pages, including the branches involved and the date.
• Make sure every item is priced correctly and matches its shelf talker. Keep shelf talkers clean and placed at the far left of each product.
• Use the block system when merchandising stock.
• Keep the shop floor and aisles clean and clear, and remove hazards and stock from under shelves.
• Help plan promotional and display ideas, build displays using props and accessories, and take part in perpetual stocktakes.
• Keep your work area tidy and do other tasks your supervisor gives you.

What you need

• Grade 12 (matric) or an equivalent qualification.
• If you do not have matric, you can still apply if you have completed a Retail Operations leadership course or an NQF 3 Stock Management course worth at least 54 credits.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, or some entry-level stock experience.
• Basic knowledge of the product range.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good with numbers.
• Creative flair for displays.
