About this role

Pedros is opening a brand-new restaurant in Belgravia, Cape Town. It is looking for cashiers to join the team that will get the store running from day one.

The job is based at the front counter. You will take payments, serve customers and keep the queue moving.

What you’ll do

• Take customer orders and payments, and make sure every transaction is correct.
• Use the POS system and fix simple problems when they come up.
• Handle cash, card and digital payments with care.
• Give receipts and deal with refunds or exchanges.
• Tell customers about specials and suggest other products.
• Manage the queue and answer basic questions or complaints.
• Keep the counter area clean and tidy.
• Count your cash, balance your till and complete the end-of-shift report.

• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Honesty and integrity, and the ability to protect company assets.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Previous cashier or retail experience (advantageous).
