Cashier

About this role

TWK Agri is looking for a cashier to work in its Trade division in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal. The job is about serving customers at the till and keeping the checkout and store running well.

What you’ll do

• Take payments in cash and by card, and handle cash accurately.
• Count the cash drawer at the start of each shift so the amounts are right and there is enough change.
• Work out prices and totals using a calculator, cash register or scanner.
• Give customers their receipts, change, refunds or credits.
• Greet customers, help them in the shop and keep a record of transactions.
• Keep the checkout area clean and tidy.
• Help with general store work, such as stocking shelves, marking prices and doing stock takes.
• Pack and wrap goods, and prepare parcels for dispatch.

What you need

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Basic computer skills.
• Previous cashier experience.
• Ability to handle money carefully and accurately.
• Good people skills and the ability to work with customers.
• Trilingual in Afrikaans, English and Zulu (advantageous).
