Group Financial Manager: Timber

About this role

TWK Agri, a well-known agriculture business, is recruiting a Group Financial Manager for its Timber division in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The role supports the Finance Executive: Timber across the division and its underlying businesses, with a focus on financial management, analysis and reporting.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and maintain short, medium and long-term cash flow forecasts, then track actual cash flow against them and explain major variances.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and the monthly review of financial plans for the Timber division.
• Manage working capital by monitoring inventory, debtors and creditors, and help recommend steps to reduce stock problems and carrying costs.
• Coordinate the evaluation and monitoring of capital expenditure, including business-case reviews and post-investment reviews.
• Support ERP implementation, financial data clean-up, system testing and better finance processes and reporting.
• Provide technical accounting and IFRS support, and monitor financial, control, tax and compliance risks across the division.
• Review consolidated monthly financial statements and management reports, and give clear insight into trends, risks and opportunities.

What you need

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• CA(SA).
• 3 to 5 years of proven financial management experience, preferably in agriculture, forestry, timber or manufacturing.
• 3 to 5 years of leadership or team-coordination experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, budgeting, working capital, inventory, cost control and capital expenditure.
• Advanced knowledge of financial management, IFRS, tax and related legislation.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience in ERP and business intelligence reporting tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
• Strong consolidation, analytical, problem-solving and review skills.
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Understanding of forestry, timber or manufacturing is advantageous.
