Group Financial Manager: Trade

About this role

TWK Agri is looking for a Group Financial Manager for its Trade division, based in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role gives consolidated financial management, analysis and operational support to the Finance Executive: Trade and the businesses that sit under the division.

What you’ll do

• Build and consolidate short, medium and long-term cash flow forecasts that match operational plans, budgets and known commitments.
• Track actual cash flow against forecast, look into large variances and suggest fixes to the Finance Executive.
• Manage working capital by keeping a close eye on inventory, debtors and creditors, and work with the finance team on debtor ageing and recovery.
• Coordinate budgets, forecasts and monthly management reports, and highlight variances, risks and recommended actions.
• Review capital expenditure requests, including business cases, affordability and approval compliance.
• Support technical accounting, IFRS compliance and cost-control measures across the Trade finance teams.
• Help with ERP implementation, financial data clean-up and improvements to finance systems and controls.
• Coordinate the identification and escalation of financial, control, tax and compliance risks.

What you need

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Professional certification such as CA(SA) or CIMA.
• 3 to 5 years of proven financial management experience, preferably in agriculture or manufacturing.
• 3 to 5 years of leadership or team-coordination experience.
• Experience in financial reporting, cash flow management and forecasting, budgeting, working capital, inventory, cost control and capital expenditure.
• Advanced knowledge of financial management, IFRS, tax and related legislation.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, plus experience with ERP and business intelligence reporting tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
• Strong consolidation, analytical, problem-solving and review skills.
• Experience in agriculture or manufacturing is advantageous.
