What you’ll do
- Keep shelves full, neat and stocked with the right products, and check that stock is not past its sell-by date.
- Restock merchandise when needed and make sure price labels and displays are correct. Report any price differences to management.
- Handle till work, including taking payments by cash, card, voucher and coupon, processing loyalty cards and scanning items.
- Help customers with exchanges and returns, but only when a Frontshop Leader has approved them.
- Follow up on customer out-of-stock requests quickly, and pass on compliments and complaints to management.
- Help with stock deliveries, storeroom tidying, stocktaking and cash handling, following Dis-Chem procedures.
What you need
- Grade 12 (matric or Senior Certificate).
- Between 0 and 6 months of retail work experience.
- Basic maths skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Good spoken communication and the ability to follow set procedures.
- Ability to work retail hours.
- South African citizenship.
- Advantageous: about 1 year of retail experience.
- Advantageous: a retail business management certificate.
- Advantageous: basic computer skills (Word, Excel and Outlook), numerical skills and SAP.
- Advantageous: a driver’s licence and your own reliable transport.
- Required for employment: a clear credit record, a clear criminal record and a valid MIE check.
