Checkout Assistant

About this role

Pick n Pay is looking for a Checkout Assistant to join its store in Klerksdorp, North West. You will help customers at the tills and keep the checkout area running smoothly. This is a full-time position.

What you’ll do

• Pack shopping neatly into bags and trolleys to the company standard.
• Handle detergents and cleaning chemicals safely and correctly.
• Look at each situation from the customer’s side and respond in a friendly way.
• Work quickly and keep your tasks moving, without losing accuracy.
• Carry out routine tasks to a consistently high standard.
• Be willing to learn other store tasks and move between roles when needed.

What you need

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Live close to the store.
• Good spoken English. You must be able to speak clearly and listen well.
• Willingness to work shifts to meet store needs.
• Ability to cope with physical work.
• Passing the numeracy screening assessments. All applicants must complete these.
• Self-motivation. You should look for ways to improve and grow in the job.
