Clinical Nurse (R/N) Experienced CSSD Supervisor

About this role

Netcare is hiring an experienced Clinical Nurse for Netcare Pholoso Hospital. You will plan, carry out and record nursing care for patients, and you will work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary health team. The role also includes supervising and supporting nursing staff in the unit.

What you’ll do

• Act as a clinical resource for staff who assess, plan, carry out, evaluate and record patient care.
• Keep in touch with families and other health professionals, and speak up for patients when needed.
• Start and lead emergency treatment on any ward or department when needed.
• Work with doctors on ward rounds, and build and update individual care plans.
• Write shift reports that show patient condition, patient-to-staff ratios and any problems.
• Allocate staff across the unit and adjust staffing levels to match patient needs.
• Help with training, mentoring and orientation of nursing staff and students, and keep emergency procedures up to date.
• Use electronic patient records, e-scripts and clinical orders as Netcare moves to digital systems.

What you need

• Registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Thorough knowledge of general and specialised nursing theory and practice.
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices.
• Experience at professional nurse level. The advert asks for an experienced nurse.
