You will work with designers, engineers and stakeholders to create reusable components and make sure the design and the code match.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain web components in React, Angular, Vue and Stencil, written in TypeScript and meeting WCAG 2.2.
- Look after design token pipelines, themes and brand variants.
- Work with designers in Figma Dev Mode, Code Connect and MCP to turn designs into accessible components.
- Spot repeated patterns and turn them into shared, scalable solutions.
- Write and maintain component documentation, reference apps and contribution guides.
- Build and release component libraries, and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and deployments with Docker and Azure.
- Set up automated testing, including unit, accessibility, visual regression and end-to-end tests.
- Review code, mentor team members and take ownership of work from concept to release.
What you need
- Matric / Grade 12 or the National Senior Certificate.
- Advanced Diploma or National First Degree (NQF Level 6 or higher), as listed in the essential qualifications.
- 3-5+ years of front-end engineering experience, including building component libraries or reusable UI frameworks.
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining a design system or UI library in production.
- Strong TypeScript skills and working knowledge of React, Angular, Vue and Web Components.
- Understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2.
- Experience with design tokens, theming and multi-brand implementations.
- Knowledge of Node.js tooling, build systems and component library distribution.
- Experience with CI/CD, Azure DevOps, containers and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of secure coding and OWASP principles.
- Advantageous: experience with Nx, Turborepo or similar monorepo tools.
- Advantageous: knowledge of AEM authoring and integration.
Is this job for you?
This role suits an experienced front-end engineer who cares about accessibility and consistent design. You enjoy building tools that other developers use, and you communicate well with designers and product teams.
