Finance Administrator Internship

About this role

Discovery is offering a fixed-term internship in Sandton for learners who are studying finance at a TVET college. The purpose is to give you hands-on finance experience while you apply what you learn in class at a real workplace. It counts towards your qualification.

What you’ll do

• Help with general finance administration tasks.
• Support the month-end close process.
• Prepare reconciliations and the schedules that go with them.
• Help with budgeting and variance analysis.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable work.
• Gather information for audits and compliance reviews, and capture data.
• Prepare tax schedules.

What you need

• Matric or Grade 12.
• N6 in Financial Management from a TVET college.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advantageous: proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail and a methodical way of working, within strict turnaround times.
• Good relationship skills and a customer service mindset.
• Discretion when you handle confidential information.
• Good time management, and the ability to stay productive under pressure.
