General Assistant - Drive Thru Yard

About this role

Brights Hardware in Blackheath, Western Cape, is hiring a General Assistant for its drive thru yard. The job keeps the yard tidy, loads customers’ purchases and helps drivers so that stock and customers are not lost.

What you’ll do

• Load customers’ vehicles, delivery trucks and transfer trucks quickly and correctly.
• Stack stock neatly and count it.
• Help pull stock for transfers.
• Report stock shortages and breakages.
• Keep the yard clean by sweeping and looking after the work area.
• Help customers and answer questions about products.
• Bag stone and sand, and take part in perpetual stocktakes.

What you need

• Matric or an equivalent qualification.
• One year of experience in a similar role (advantageous).
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to count stock accurately.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
• A disciplined, motivated attitude and the ability to cope under pressure.
• Physical fitness and stamina for lifting and loading.
