About this role
Brights Hardware is looking for a Sales Assistant for its plumbing department in Langebaan, Western Cape. The job is about helping customers find the right product for their needs and turning that help into sales.
What you’ll do
- Serve customers in a professional, friendly way and make sure they leave satisfied.
- Advise customers on plumbing products and recommend the best option for the problem they need to solve.
- Count stock regularly, take part in perpetual stock takes and keep stock levels under control.
- Place stock orders with buyers when needed.
- Keep the customer book, special orders file and invoices up to date, plus other admin tasks.
- Make sure products are merchandised properly and priced correctly.
- Keep your work area clean and tidy, and carry out other tasks your manager gives you.
What you need
- Matric, or three completed Intercept courses totalling 120 credits.
- At least 2 years of experience in a hardware store.
- At least 2 years of experience with plumbing products.
- Brights Induction in service excellence (you will need to complete this).
- In-house entry-level merchandising standards.
- In-house basic sales techniques.
- Two Department Product Knowledge Certificates.
- A natural flair for sales.
- Clear communication skills, both spoken and written.
