About this role
International Facilities Services (IFS Africa) is hiring a Head of Procurement Governance and Contracts Management based in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. This senior role is about keeping procurement fast and commercial while making sure risk, legal and audit standards are met across the business.
What you’ll do
- Design and maintain the procurement policy, procedures, templates and governance calendar.
- Turn Group requirements and local laws into practical procurement controls for each market.
- Run compliance testing, manage exceptions, drive corrective actions and report to management.
- Oversee contracts from intake and review through to signature, obligation tracking, renewal and closure.
- Keep the procurement risk and controls register up to date and lead remediation of audit findings.
- Work with Legal on contracting standards, risk clauses and escalation of major contract exposures.
- Train procurement and business teams on policy, Levels of Authority and compliant buying.
- Lead and develop your team, including performance feedback, appraisals, training and succession planning.
What you need
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Law, Commerce, Risk or an equivalent field.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in procurement, governance, contracting, risk, audit or compliance.
- Leadership experience in a complex organisation.
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Advantageous: CIPS or MCIPS, or a contract management, compliance or governance qualification.
