About this role
International Facilities Services is hiring a Procurement Manager for its Umhlanga office in KwaZulu-Natal. This role leads the largest and most commercially important negotiations, from strategy and planning through to the final deal and the review afterwards.
What you’ll do
- Plan negotiations for strategic, high-value and high-risk deals, including deals that cross borders. Set the objectives, fallback options, walk-away points and approval limits before talks start.
- Build the fact base for each deal using spend data, market information, supplier costs, should-cost models and total cost of ownership analysis.
- Lead negotiation teams so that commercial, operational, legal, finance and technical positions line up.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, indexation, service levels, rebates, warranties, risk allocation and performance remedies. Keep a live record of gains and concessions, and measure the value captured against the approved baseline.
- Support supplier disputes and renegotiations where a material amount of value is at risk.
- Run post-deal reviews and turn the lessons into playbooks and benchmarks for the wider team.
- Lead and develop staff, including performance feedback, appraisals, leave and succession planning.
What you need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in strategic procurement or commercial roles.
- Proven experience leading complex negotiations and high-value supplier deals.
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Advantageous: advanced negotiation training.
- Advantageous: CIPS or MCIPS membership.
