About this role
International Facilities Services (IFS Africa) is hiring a Procurement Excellence Manager based in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. The role is about building the procurement systems that help the whole group plan, measure and improve how it buys.
What you’ll do
- Turn the strategic sourcing plan into a multi-year procurement transformation roadmap and a yearly operating plan.
- Design and keep improving the end-to-end procurement operating model, process map and responsibility matrix.
- Own the procurement KPIs, performance reviews, benefits tracking and reporting to executives.
- Lead digital upgrades, workflow automation, e-sourcing adoption and better data quality.
- Run procurement maturity assessments and decide which improvements to tackle first.
- Set up standard playbooks and tools for sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationships and contract management, and work with the business to standardise specifications.
- Lead staff capability reviews, learning paths, succession planning and the professional development of the team.
- Cut sourcing and approval times through lean improvements, while keeping strong controls in place.
What you need
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Commerce, or an equivalent qualification.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in procurement and engineering, with strong experience in transformation, operating-model design, performance management, analytics and change implementation.
- A valid Code EB driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Advantageous: a postgraduate qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Strategy, Analytics or Transformation.
- Advantageous: CIPS or MCIPS, Lean or Six Sigma, or project or change management certification.
Is this job for you?
This job suits a senior procurement professional who has led change across a function, not just run day-to-day buying. You should enjoy building systems, using data to make decisions and developing people. Experience across several sites or countries will help.
Tips before you apply
- Have your degree certificate, ID, driver’s licence and any CIPS or Lean/Six Sigma certificates ready to upload.
- Show your 8 to 12 years of experience clearly on your CV, with dates, employers and the transformation projects you led.
- Give measurable results in your CV, such as cycle-time cuts, savings or systems you rolled out, so the panel can see your impact.
