About this role
Adendorff Machinery Mart is looking for a junior sales person for its Boksburg branch. You will be the first person customers speak to, and you will help them find the right tools and machinery for their jobs.
What you’ll do
- Greet customers, answer their questions and help them choose the right products.
- Learn the features and benefits of the products so you can explain them clearly.
- Process sales at the till using the point-of-sale system, carefully and accurately.
- Keep stock levels under control and make sure shelves are full, neat and easy to shop from.
- Take part in stocktaking and restocking with your team.
- Help set up promotions and product displays that encourage customers to buy.
- Keep up with new products and industry news so you can give good advice.
- Follow all health and safety rules to keep the shop safe for customers and staff.
What you need
- Matric (Senior Certificate) or an equivalent qualification.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- Basic maths for handling payments and counting stock.
- Ability to stay focused and careful in a busy environment.
- Experience with inventory management and stock control.
- Some staff supervision experience.
- Your own vehicle (essential).
- Advantageous: previous experience in automotive, engineering, tools and machinery, or hardware.
- Advantageous: experience with retail branch procedures.
- Advantageous: technical knowledge of DIY or hardware products.
