Retail Shop Assistant - Tools and Machinery

About this role

Adendorff Machinery Mart is looking for a shop assistant for its Klerksdorp branch. The role focuses on selling tools and machinery and looking after customers in a busy retail setting.

What you’ll do

• Help customers find the right tools and machinery and answer their questions.
• Keep shelves and displays neat, stocked and attractive.
• Help with stock taking and keep stock records up to date.
• Follow the branch’s daily retail procedures.
• Work as part of a team to keep the shop running well.
• Learn about the products on sale and grow your product knowledge over time.

What you need

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) as the minimum.
• Previous retail or sales experience is preferred.
• Experience in merchandising, stock taking, stock control and customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of general retail branch procedures is preferred.
• Technical knowledge of DIY tools or the hardware trade is advantageous.
• Confidence, reliability and honesty.
• Ability to work well in a team.
