This leading South African publisher and distributor has a vacancy in the Warehouse Department for a Machine Operator (Nightshift) to be based in Denver, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will report to the relevant Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a checklist per machine and ensure that daily checks are filled and recorded, and that all irregularities with machines are reported.
- Participate in stock-takes
- Forklift, Bendi and Man-Up driving are a must and therefore those licenses thereof are a prerequisite.
- Achieve daily, weekly monthly targets as set out on KPA’s
- Inspection Checks of the Machines (Order Picker, Forklift and Bendi) (10min per machine, physically inspecting, and noting the inspection result on the Inspection sheet).
- Dumping of Waste and Strip and Claim stock into the skip using the Forklift.
- Daily bulk cycle counts: Counting on the Bulk using Manup to reach high locations.
- Ad hock movement (free up space for incoming shipments. This is done by moving pallets and consolidating similar barcodes (physically and in the system-Ad hock).
- Comply with health and safety requirements.
- Replacement of damaged stock from bulk during picking to avoid part supply.
- Based on requests due to bulk cartons orders, the drivers would be requested to uplift and carry the heavy order to Dispatch using a forklift.
- Put-aways of pallets prepared by Receiving within 24hrs per shipment processed by receiving.
- Drivers are the only ones in charge of picking from 00TE and 00RM Bulk warehouses due to height of the shelve locations.
- Remove empty pallets from bulk locations and hand them over to Receiving.
- Offloading of Shipments on the Receiving side.
- Daily Loading of courier Container with invoiced pallets from Dispatched.
Job Requirements:
- Matric Certificate
- 1-2 years’ experience in warehousing stores environment
- The applicant must be able to work on the nightshift, as this is a nightshift post.
- Valid forklift, man-Up and Bendi driving licenses are a prerequisite.
- Must be able to work overtime if needed
