Maintenance Operator Grade 2 Mechanical

About this role

Sasol, the global chemicals and energy company, is recruiting a Maintenance Operator at its Secunda Operations site in Mpumalanga. The role supports the maintenance of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems, and helps keep production running smoothly.

What you’ll do

• Help artisans with their tasks and stay with them to make sure every job is done safely.
• Keep your work area clean and tidy at all times.
• Pack tools properly and store them in a safe, controlled area.
• Use hand tools and workshop equipment the right way and safely.
• Get tools and materials ready for each job, as the artisan instructs.
• Help fit and remove machine parts.
• Pick the correct oil or lubricant for each service.
• Drive and deliver samples when needed.

What you need

• Grade 12 or N3, with Mathematics, English and Physical Science.
• CHIETA NQF Level 2 (Mechanical).
• One to two or more years of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver’s licence, Code 8 or 10.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work through technical problems.
• Strong planning and organising skills, and a sense of ownership over your work.
