Operations Manager

About this role

Fidelity Services Group is looking for an Operations Manager to run its Kimberley branch in the Northern Cape. You will report to the Regional Manager. The job is to keep the branch running well, make sure security officers are posted as the client contracts say, and keep clients happy with the service.

What you’ll do

• Manage the full branch, including operations, finances, transport, human resources, industrial relations, ISO quality matters, client portfolios and contracts and service level agreements.
• Lead and manage operations managers, site managers and supervisors so that client issues are dealt with quickly.
• Plan, organise, lead and control your staff, including duty rosters, training, quarterly appraisals and succession planning.
• Help prepare the annual budget and make sure managers stick to their budgets.
• Control branch assets, the vehicle fleet and firearms.
• Make sure quotes for purchases and repairs follow the proper process, and that operations meet the quality management system standards.
• Attend regular client and internal management meetings, and complete monthly and quarterly reports.
• Carry out risk assessments on client premises, write investigation reports and recommend service improvements to the client.

What you need

• Matric certificate.
• PSIRA Grade A registration and accreditation.
• At least 10 years’ experience in the security industry.
• Senior security management experience, including managing a large workforce.
• Experience in financial management and budgets.
• Experience managing a fleet of vehicles.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 quality management.
• Strong people management, planning, leadership and organisational skills.
• Good administration, communication, interpersonal and client liaison skills.
• Computer literacy on Microsoft programmes.
• Firearm competency.
• Valid driver’s licence and your own reliable transport.
• No criminal record and an excellent track record.
• Assertive, goal-driven and self-motivated, with a passion for the business.
