Part-Time Lecturer (Agriculture)

About this role

The Central University of Technology (CUT) in Bloemfontein is looking for part-time lecturers for its Department of Agriculture, in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences. The work covers teaching, learning and assessment for agriculture subjects in 2027.

What you’ll do

• Teach allocated subjects on your own programme and on other programmes.
• Prepare your own academic material for each subject.
• Assess students and evaluate their progress.
• Handle the admin that comes with your subjects.
• Take part in research and in community projects.
• Teach in person, online, or in a mix of both. Formats can change at short notice.

What you need

• An appropriate B Tech or Honours degree, or a Master’s or Doctorate, depending on the level you teach.
• Previous lecturing experience (advantageous).
• Experience with electronic learning platforms such as Blackboard (recommended).
• Your own laptop computer.
• Ability to lecture on the relevant CUT campus and attend scheduled class hours, which can include evenings.
