Minimum Requirements

• Minimum: Grade 12/NQF Level 2 with Maths and Science.
• 2 years’ experience in plant operation and maintenance basic knowledge of working with tools.
• 1 year Computer Literate.
• Code 8 driver’s license is essential.
• Basic understanding of sludge treatment process/operations.
  •Mechanical maintenance certificate

Primary Duties

Inspection of emergency settling ponds and monitoring of ponds levels and operating of decant valves
Cleaning of blue screens, controlling blue screen feed valves
Checking and monitoring the return water dams, return water flow, level and blockages along the canals
Taking samples for return water turbidity
Monitoring of drying beds levels, changing of sprayers, Operating of drying beds feed valves

Knowledge

Basic understanding of sludge treatment process/operation
Basic skills of working with tools.
Basic knowledge of the OHS Act and its application
