About this role
GrowthArch is looking for a Provincial Project Coordinator based in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will support the Project Manager in running an internship placement programme for TVET college candidates, from screening them to seeing them through to the end of their internship.
What you’ll do
- Work with TVET colleges in the province to collect intern lists and documents, then screen candidates against programme and host employer requirements.
- Verify IDs, qualifications and academic records before placements are made.
- Match interns with host employers close to where they live, and coordinate signed agreements and workplace inductions.
- Visit host employers on a set schedule to check attendance, conduct, progress and wellbeing of interns.
- Review and sign off intern logbooks, follow up on gaps, and meet workplace mentors for feedback.
- Keep a provincial tracker, record each visit in a report, and send weekly progress reports to the Project Manager.
What you need
- A National Diploma or degree in Human Resource Management, Education and Training, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- A valid South African driver’s licence, Code B or higher.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the province.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience coordinating internships, learnerships, work-integrated learning or other skills development programmes.
- Experience monitoring participants at workplaces and reviewing logbooks or portfolios of evidence.
- Experience preparing reports and keeping records for funders or audits.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Advantageous: experience with TVET colleges, SETAs or host employers.
- Advantageous: good knowledge of the province’s towns, industries and employers.
- Advantageous: access to a reliable vehicle for site visits.
- Advantageous: proficiency in a language widely spoken in the province, besides English.
Is this job for you?
This role suits an organised person who likes being out in the field. You should be comfortable managing many interns and site visits at once, and you should be able to work on your own with little supervision. Strong attention to detail and discretion with personal information are key.
Tips before you apply
- Have certified copies of your qualifications, driver’s licence and a clear record of your programme experience ready to send.
- Show your experience with logbooks, site visits and funder reports by giving real examples, such as the number of placements you managed.
- Highlight any work with TVET colleges, SETAs or host employers near the top of your CV, since these are listed as advantageous.
