About this role
GrowthArch is recruiting a Provincial Project Coordinator based in East London, Eastern Cape. The coordinator helps the Project Manager run an internship placement programme that takes TVET college candidates from screening through to completion at their host employers.
What you’ll do
- Work with TVET colleges in the province to collect intern lists and supporting documents, then screen qualifications against programme and host employer requirements.
- Verify IDs, qualifications and academic records, and help match each intern to a host employer as close to home as possible.
- Coordinate signed agreements between host employers and interns, and support onboarding and workplace inductions.
- Visit host employers on a schedule to check attendance, conduct, progress and wellbeing. Record each visit in a report with evidence.
- Review and sign off intern logbooks, follow up on gaps, and meet workplace mentors for feedback on each intern.
- Keep a provincial tracker and weekly progress reports, plus POPIA-compliant intern records for funder reporting and audits.
What you need
- National Diploma or degree in Human Resource Management, Education and Training, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Valid South African driver’s licence, Code B or higher, and a willingness to travel extensively within the province.
- At least 2–3 years of experience coordinating internships, learnerships, work-integrated learning or other skills development programmes.
- Experience monitoring participants at workplaces and reviewing logbooks or portfolios of evidence.
- Experience preparing reports and keeping records for funders or audits.
- Advantageous: experience working with TVET colleges, SETAs or host employers.
- Advantageous: good knowledge of the province’s towns, industries and employers.
- Advantageous: access to a reliable vehicle for site visits.
- Advantageous: proficiency in a language widely spoken in the province, in addition to English.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, and comfort with trackers and reports.
- Strong attention to detail, good organisation, and the ability to work independently in the field.
- Clear communication, proactive follow-up, and high integrity when handling personal information.
