Receiving Clerk

About this role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Receiving Clerk for its store in Hermanus. You will make sure stock is received, checked and packed accurately, following company procedures, so that customers are served well in store.

What you’ll do

• Scan and record goods that arrive at the store, checking them against the invoice.
• Check each delivery for quantities, variants and condition, and make sure the goods match what was invoiced.
• Send back unordered or damaged goods and complete the credit notes for them.
• Receipt same-day deliveries and keep stock moving from the receiving area to the sales floor.
• Help the Receiving Manager log warehouse claims on the claims system.
• Handle returns to suppliers and help control high-risk stock.
• Keep the receiving area and storerooms tidy, with all physical controls in place.

What you need

• Grade 12 / matric (essential).
• Basic computer skills (essential).
• Good numerical skills (essential).
• Strong English language skills (essential).
• Ability to lift and move boxes weighing 20kg or more (essential).
• Willingness and ability to work retail hours (essential).
• Good time management and analytical skills (essential).
• Experience in receiving, retail or FMCG (advantageous).
• Bilingual skills (advantageous).
• Experience using a stock rotation system (advantageous).
