Retail Store Assistant

About this role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Retail Store Assistant for its store in Phesantekraal, Cape Town. The role supports the store manager by keeping daily operations and admin running to company policy and procedure.

What you’ll do

• Handle customer complaints and comments, and report them to management.
• Build good relationships with customers, answer their questions and send them to the right department when needed.
• Follow up on stock queries until they are resolved, and give customers feedback when they ask for it.
• Manage cash shortages and overages at the till, including floats, and handle refunds and returns.
• Check deliveries and invoices for accuracy, and help the Receiving Manager log Distribution Centre claims.
• Control high-risk stock, prepare the daily run reconciliation and order the change the cashiers need.

What you need

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Retail experience.
• Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Strong retail administration and operational knowledge.
• Good leadership and management skills, and a team player who builds customer relations.
• Honest and trustworthy, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• South African citizen.
• Driver’s licence and/or your own reliable transport.
• Must pass a MIE check, and have a clear criminal and credit record.
