SAICA Graduate Programme (Trainee Accountant)

About this role

SNG Grant Thornton is recruiting first-year trainee accountants for its Assurance division in Durban. The role starts in 2027 and is a training contract that works towards SAICA registration as a Chartered Accountant.

What you’ll do

• Complete the training contract and build the SAICA competencies you need to register as a Chartered Accountant.
• Work on audit engagements across a wide range of commercial sectors.
• Get hands-on experience with clients and their management teams.
• Work with businesses of many kinds, from listed companies to new, entrepreneurial start-ups.
• Learn from mentors and receive guidance from managers and partners, who keep an open-door approach.
• Contribute energy and fresh ideas to the audit team.

What you need

• Essential: Honours, PGDA or CTA, or an equivalent qualification from a SAICA-recognised university.
• Strong technical ability.
• High attention to detail, with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication skills, both written and spoken.
• The ability to build good working relationships with clients.
• Sound professional judgement.
• A commitment to your own development and growth.
• The ability to work well in diverse teams.
• Strong organisational skills.
