Senior Advisor Occupational Health and Safety

About this role

Eskom, through its NTCSA division, is looking for a Senior Advisor in Occupational Health and Safety. The post sits in the SHREQ Safety Risk Management team at Megawatt Park in Sunninghill. The job exists to build and support a healthy, safe working environment across the business.

What you’ll do

• Review and give expert advice on OHS policies, standards, procedures and systems.
• Provide an OHS advisory service to the wider organisation.
• Spot and assess workplace health and safety risks, then recommend ways to reduce or control them.
• Help shape practical strategies that keep people safe while the business meets its goals.
• Work with teams across the organisation to put safety improvements into practice.

What you need

• A B Degree, B Tech or National Higher Diploma in Safety Management or Environmental Health (NQF 7, 360 credits).
• At least 5 years of related experience in occupational health and safety.
• Strong knowledge of the OHS Act.
• Understanding of risk analysis and project management principles.
• Knowledge of human behaviour, human error and human safety performance.
• Good negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Leadership skills, including coaching and mentoring (advantageous).
• Financial management skills (advantageous).
