Senior Specialist Commercial Energy Projects

About this role

Sasol, the global integrated chemicals and energy company, is looking for a Senior Specialist to work from its Sandton office. The role gives commercial advice on projects, deal structuring and contracts for Business Building and the Integrated Gas Business.

What you’ll do

• Give strong commercial insight that helps shape business strategy.
• Study industry fundamentals, including business models, costs and local and global economics in key markets.
• Support transaction structuring and contract talks for projects and business development across every phase.
• Manage the rights and obligations in commercial contracts, from development through to operations.
• Lead the Partnering Framework to find preferred partners for strategic growth projects and deals.
• Lead the negotiation of framework, co-operation, joint development, supply, sale and non-disclosure agreements.
• Build internal and external networks, share knowledge and help grow internal capability.
• Track competitor and emerging market trends, and check that investment and business analysis is sound and accurate.

What you need

• A 3-4 year relevant university degree.
• At least 9 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication skills and business acumen.
• Commercial acumen and business insight.
• Good reporting skills and the ability to analyse options and recommend solutions.
• Data collection and analysis skills.
• A action-oriented approach that takes accountability.
• A strategic mindset.
