Shop Assistant / Cashier

About this role

Clicks is hiring a Shop Assistant and Cashier for its store at the Ingwe Centre in Malelane, Mpumalanga. The job focuses on smooth point-of-sale work, friendly customer service and keeping the shop floor neat and well stocked.

What you’ll do

• Run the till accurately. Scan items, take payments and apply clubcard rewards correctly.
• Handle cash safely at all times.
• Tell customers about clubcard benefits and sign up new clubcard members.
• Let customers know about current promotions so they get the best value.
• Greet shoppers, answer their questions and act as a friendly face for the brand.
• Keep shelves, displays and the store tidy, following visual merchandising standards.

What you need

• Grade 12 (essential).
• Maths and English at 50% or more in Grade 12 (advantageous).
• Experience in a customer-facing role in a retail or FMCG store (advantageous).
• Basic maths and good numeracy skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
• Some understanding of stock management and merchandising.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
