Store Manager

About this role

Mr Price Group is looking for a Store Manager for its Table Bay Mall store in the Western Cape. The person in this role runs the store day to day and makes sure targets, customer service standards and new head office initiatives are met.

What you’ll do

• Run the store’s daily operations and push the team to hit sales targets and customer service standards.
• Manage stock from receiving and unpacking through to the sales floor, and keep stock loss under control.
• Look after the stockroom, keep it tidy, and approve write-offs, breakages, recalls and returns.
• Study sales and profit reports, plan actions with management, and keep an eye on store spending.
• Carry out compliance checks and make sure store policies and procedures are followed.
• Lead, coach and develop staff, including recruiting and managing performance, with an eye on succession planning.
• Roll out head office innovation projects and customer experience plans, such as promotions, repricing and visual standards.

What you need

• Grade 12.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a retail store management role.
• Knowledge of sales and service management.
• Budgeting knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• A good understanding of the retail trade, the brand, customers and products.
