Technical Manager

About this role

Hire Resolve is recruiting a Technical Manager for an animal feed manufacturing business based in Bloemfontein, Free State. The role covers quality assurance, feed safety, regulatory compliance and technical support for customers across the feed mill.

What you’ll do

• Run quality control on raw materials on site, including sampling, testing and standard analyses.
• Check finished feed quality, making sure samples are representative and tests are done properly.
• Test in-process materials and finished feed.
• Build and roll out ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards at mill level, and support the Feed Safety and Quality team.
• Keep the mill compliant with Act 36, Act 101 and veterinary export requirements, and track full traceability of every process.
• Lead and motivate the quality team, and make sure safety rules are followed.
• Give customers ongoing technical advice, review product performance and deal with complaints quickly.
• Report monthly results, look into possible risks, support biosecurity and Salmonella monitoring, and train feed mill staff.

What you need

• An MSc or BSc (Agric) in Animal Science.
• Registration under the Natural Scientific Professions Act 27 of 2003.
• At least 3 years’ experience in animal nutrition.
• Experience in feed quality control and feed milling operations.
• Strong attention to detail, leadership and decision-making skills.
• Good analytical ability and computer literacy.
• Self-motivated, with strong people skills.
• Advantageous: experience in research or product development.
