Alarm & CCTV Assistant Technician

About this role

Fidelity Services Group is looking for an Assistant Technician for its alarm and CCTV team in Cape Town. You will support an Installations Technician on alarm and security installations at client premises.

What you’ll do

• Help the technician install alarm and security equipment on site.
• Run new cables, drill holes, and mount detectors, panels, contacts and lights.
• Remove old equipment from client premises.
• Tell the technician about any equipment or tool limits, and which cabling an installation needs.
• Help the technician with user functions and handover to clients.
• Clean vehicles and premises once an installation is finished.
• Over time, work towards powering up and walk-testing alarm systems on your own, and doing basic drilling and connections without a technician present.

What you need

• Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of experience as a wireman.
• PSIRA registration at Grade C.
• A proven ability to work under pressure and pay close attention to detail.
• Practical electrical or electronic knowledge (advantageous).
