Boilermaker

About this role

BKB Ltd is looking for a Boilermaker for its site in Bethlehem, Free State. The role covers metal fabrication and repairs, and it also involves leading maintenance work across production.

What you’ll do

• Cut and join metal sheets to make parts and products for the plant.
• Install metal ductwork and carry out repairs on existing sheet metal systems.
• Check that all work meets the required standards and specifications.
• Supervise staff and external contractors so that services keep running smoothly.
• Plan preventative maintenance, and manage breakdowns and productivity savings.
• Make sure safety requirements are met and maintenance support is efficient.

What you need

• Grade 12, with Maths and Science preferred.
• Qualified Boilermaker.
• At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in an FMCG environment.
• Good understanding of mill equipment.
• Exposure to food safety audits.
• Good understanding of the LRA and the OHS Act.
• Understanding of food safety.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Good people management skills.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and pay close attention to detail.
