Junior Merchandiser Internship

About this role

Managed People Solutions is offering an 18-month internship in Sasolburg, Free State. The programme is for young people who want hands-on workplace experience while they study further, and you will work as a Junior Merchandiser alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do

• Work out which stock needs to be merchandised, and draw up the stock requirements.
• Check stock dates, product quality on the shelf, stock rotation and price tags.
• Carry out merchandising tasks following the cycle brief you are given.
• Pass on customer complaints, questions and requests to the right people.
• Learn the products and promotions, and keep your knowledge up to date.
• Keep accurate records of the merchandising work you do.
• Make calls as set out in the call cycle, and tell the RSM about out-of-stock products.

What you need

• An N6 TVET Certificate, completed.
• Field of study: Management Assistant, Business Management or Marketing Management.
• Under 28 years old.
• You must be willing to complete the full 18-month workplace programme. The programme is also meant to help you apply for an N6 Diploma later.

Tips before you apply

• Have your N6 certificate or statement of results, your ID and proof of your age ready to upload.
• Put your TVET subjects and any retail, sales or stock-handling work on your CV, even if it was part-time or informal.
• Show your interest in merchandising and customer service by describing a time you helped a customer or kept a space tidy and organised.
