Cashier

About this role

Pedros is opening a brand-new Wackys store in Durban, and it is building a launch team for the West Street branch. As a cashier, you will be at the front counter from day one, helping shape how the store runs.

What you’ll do

• Take customer orders and payments, and make sure every transaction is correct.
• Work the POS system and fix simple technical problems when they come up.
• Handle cash, card and digital payments with care.
• Issue receipts and deal with refunds or exchanges.
• Suggest specials and extra products to customers.
• Keep the queue moving and sort out basic questions and complaints.
• Keep your counter clean and tidy, balance your cash and complete end-of-shift reports.

What you need

• Strong numeracy skills.
• Previous cashier or retail experience (advantageous).
• Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Friendly customer service and clear communication.
• Honesty and integrity, with a sense of responsibility for company assets.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems on the spot.
• A professional appearance and a positive attitude.
