Cashier

About this role

Pedros is opening a brand-new restaurant in Polokwane and is looking for cashiers to join the launch team. The job is to handle customer payments and keep the front counter running well.

What you’ll do

• Take customer orders and payments, and make sure they are accurate.
• Use the POS system and fix simple problems when they come up.
• Take cash, card and digital payments carefully.
• Give out receipts and handle refunds or exchanges.
• Tell customers about specials and suggest other products.
• Manage the queue and answer simple customer questions or complaints.
• Keep the counter clean and tidy, count your cash at the end of each shift and write up your end-of-shift report.

What you need

• Strong numeracy skills.
• Previous cashier or retail experience (advantageous).
• A professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical accuracy.
• Good communication and a friendly, helpful approach to customers.
• Honesty and integrity, with care for company assets.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems on the spot.
