Dispatch Checker

About this role

Libstar is looking for a Dispatch Checker for its warehouse at Rialto Waterfall in Midrand, Johannesburg. You will report to the Outbound Supervisor. The job makes sure picked stock is correct, complete and on time before it leaves the dispatch area.

What you’ll do

• Check and verify the quality and quantity of all picked stock before dispatch, including FS, third-party, inter-depot, IRL, WW and retail orders.
• Make sure vehicles are loaded on time, following the loading schedule and route sheets.
• Check that no stock leaves the site without the right paperwork, and control proof of delivery (POD) for all deliveries.
• Work towards on-time, in-full (OTIF) deliveries to customers.
• Complete daily truck inspection lists for local and third-party trucks, and handle driver debriefs, including load, fleet and fuel slips.
• Check and validate returns (GSRs), then pass the details to Administration. Also handle Chep pallet administration, re-labelling and re-packing where needed, and report any damages.

What you need

• At least 2 years of experience in an FMCG warehouse.
• Knowledge of inventory and stock control, including FIFO.
• Good knowledge of general warehouse functions.
• Knowledge of fleet scheduling, staging and tracking.
• Computer literacy, including e-mail and basic Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Attention to detail, with accuracy and speed in your work.
• Good time management and the ability to work under pressure.
• Advantageous: a customer service attitude and a team player who builds good working relationships.
