About this role
BCE FoodService Equipment is looking for a Dispatch Supervisor to lead the day shift in its Johannesburg distribution operation, based in Roodepoort. The role keeps BCE products moving to customers on time and with as few errors and stock losses as possible.
What you’ll do
- Help the Outbound and Day Shift Manager run the day shift distribution team, and keep them updated on daily issues.
- Supervise pick and pack, including local, national and third-party courier deliveries, collections, exports, cash and carry and Cape Town container orders.
- Oversee the drivers: plan routes each day, supervise truck loading, check deliveries and manage performance.
- Manage inventory control, stock flow between inbound and outbound, and regular stock takes and cycle counts.
- Look at shrink, staffing levels and overtime costs, and recommend changes that save money and reduce errors.
- Check work areas for safety hazards, report accidents and equipment faults, and help keep the warehouse compliant with OHSA.
- Hand over smoothly to the late shift supervisor and follow up on customer service issues quickly.
What you need
- Grade 12 (or equivalent).
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent tertiary qualification combined with work experience.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- OHSA training.
- Experience in warehouse or logistics management, and supervision experience in warehouse operations (preferred).
- General warehouse experience.
- Experience with disciplinary hearings, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Knowledge of administrative systems and a comprehensive WMS.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office. SAP and Qwix experience is preferred.
- A valid First Aid certificate (highly beneficial).
- Forklift certification (highly beneficial).
