Electrician Apprenticeship

About this role

VKB Milling, part of the VKB Group and the Farm Foods division, is hiring electrician apprentices at its Christiana plant in the North West. The apprenticeship is designed to train you into a certified electrician who can work on industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

What you’ll do

• Help qualified electricians install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on industrial equipment.
• Work on wiring, plug points, lighting and control systems.
• Learn to read blueprints, schematics and electrical codes.
• Pull wire, bend conduit and fit circuit breakers and panels.
• Use hand tools, power tools and testing equipment under supervision.
• Keep your tools, materials and work area clean and safe, and follow safety standards at all times.

What you need

• Grade 12 or NQF 4.
• Enrolled in or completed a pre-apprenticeship programme.
• A real interest in electrical work and solving technical problems.
• Ability to work outdoors and in physical conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
