Electrician U/G Fixed Plant

About this role

Impala Platinum (Implats) is looking for a qualified Electrician to work on underground fixed plant in the North West. You will provide a technical electrical service to a section or unit, designing, installing, maintaining and repairing the electrical systems and equipment the business uses.

What you’ll do

• Help plan the work in your area and carry out the approved plan so production targets are met.
• Service and maintain equipment to the required standards and specifications.
• Work on underground medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) distribution.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate the work of subordinates to meet efficiency and quality goals.
• Keep the workplace safe and productive, and follow the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) requirements.
• Complete accurate reports, including safety, incident, hazard and risk reports, shift reports and work order reports.

What you need

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 (essential).
• Certified competent as an Electrician Trade under Section 13 or Section 26D (essential).
• Medium Voltage Certificate (essential).
• At least 3 years of electrician experience in underground mining (essential).
• 3 years of trackless or conventional mining experience (advantageous).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills, good English, and good hand-eye coordination.
