About this role
MTN is looking for an Executive Assistant to support the Information Technology Office in Johannesburg. You will act as the main point of contact between the Information Technology Executive, other executives, staff, clients and external partners. The role suits someone who can handle sensitive information with care.
What you’ll do
- Keep the Information Technology Executive’s office running smoothly, day to day, and make sure its work is accurate and on time.
- Manage the executive’s diary, book meetings and appointments, and plan the day to cut down on wasted time between meetings.
- Arrange all travel for the executive and the leadership team, including detailed itineraries and getting everything ready before departure.
- Take accurate minutes at meetings, then check and send them to attendees within 24 hours. Keep agenda items and action points clear.
- Set up and maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems. Check documents for quality and MTN policy compliance before the executive reviews them.
- Help with social events for the office, including costings and budget management.
- Collate monthly activity reports from the department’s units, check presentations for errors, and handle queries from clients, escalating urgent issues to the Leadership Team.
- Support the Information Technology Senior Manager: Business Operations with reporting and project tracking.
What you need
- A diploma in Office Administration/Management or a similar qualification.
- 5 to 8 years of executive support experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Resourceful, proactive and willing to try new approaches.
- Resilience.
