Executive Head: Human Resource Services

About this role

Vodacom is looking for an Executive Head to lead HR Services across its Africa operations. The role is based at the Vodacom Campus in Midrand, Gauteng.

The job sets the direction for HR Services in line with the group people strategy. It also drives digital HR change and a better experience for employees across the group.

What you’ll do

• Set the HR Services strategy for Africa and shape how the HR Services operating model grows over time.
• Lead digital HR change across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, including automation and AI adoption.
• Oversee payroll, HR systems, HR data and service delivery, and make sure these meet statutory, audit and policy requirements.
• Build reliable HR data, reporting and analytics so leaders can make decisions based on evidence.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Vodafone Group, VOIS, market HR teams and centres of expertise.
• Represent HR Services in group and governance forums, and sit on the Group HR Leadership Team.
• Lead, develop and grow the HR Services leadership team, with a focus on performance and innovation.

What you need

• A relevant degree in Human Resources, Business, Commerce, Management or a related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in HR leadership, HR transformation or HR Services leadership.
• Experience leading HR Services, HR operations, shared services or global business services teams.
• Experience working across several countries and regulatory environments.
• Experience leading HR transformation, operating model redesign and digital change.
• Strong understanding of employee experience, service design and change management.
• Knowledge of HR systems, HR data, analytics and reporting.
• Knowledge of payroll governance, controls, risk management and audit requirements.
• Knowledge of emerging HR technologies, AI and automation.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and partnership skills, including in matrix organisations.
